Dear Valued Customer,

On November 12th, 2009 the Federal Reserve adopted final regulations and commentary revising Regulation E for all banks, which affects consumer overdraft privilege programs regarding ATM and debit card transactions.  These new rules require consumers to provide “affirmative consent,” or opt in, before being charged a fee for overdraft protection services for ATM and one-time debit card transactions.

What does this mean to you the customer?  It means NSB Bank will no longer be able to provide you with the same great overdraft protection service that you have become accustomed to unless you choose to consent or opt in to the service.  You may opt in by clicking here now.  Please print the opt-in document, complete the form with your information and mail it to or drop it off at any one of our three conveniently located branches by April 30th, 2010.  You may also opt in by calling any one of our branch offices and talking with one of our account representatives.

If you choose not to opt in NSB Bank will no longer be able to pay overdrafts that are caused by ATM or one time debit card transactions.  Examples of this type of activity would be;

1. Cash withdrawal at any ATM.
2. Any other point of transaction involving your debit card (Wal-Mart, Hy-Vee, Target, etc.).
3. Purchasing groceries with your debit card. For example:  If your current account balance is $100 and you go to the grocery store and spend $105, using your debit card, your transaction will be denied unless you have consented or opted in to one of NSB’s overdraft programs.

By opting in you will continue to receive the same great service that you have been receiving!  If you should have any questions please do not hesitate to stop in or call any one of our branches.  One of our account representatives would be more than happy to discuss any questions that you may have.  NSB Bank prides itself on offering its customers great products as well as providing excellent customer service.  NSB Bank, We’re Here For You!

Thank You,

NSB Bank
